A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME …
I completed BA and MA degrees in Graphic Design at Birmingham. This then led to a career in publishing taking me from London to The Cotswolds working in the education sector of the publishing market.
I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands and over the last few years I have been exploring different creative disciplines. I was fortunate to learn about stone sculpture with a local stone carver, Bernard Johnson.
I found working 3 dimensionally presented different challenges to what I had experienced before. This work can be seen in Archive.
My graphic design work has steered me towards printing and mixed media work and more recently I have rediscovered my love for painting. Working mostly in acrylics I have a fascination with seeing unexpected beauty in ordinary surfaces which I then explore by generating textures and layers in paint and pastels.
My ideas and inspiration come from what I see around me every day. Shadows and shapes one day, colours and patterns another. Producing something interesting from the ordinary is what motivates me creatively.
